Training Hub

Our Foundation is guided by a unique approach to operations and impact, and the training hub is where purpose meets innovation. Through our training hub, we cultivate partnerships that enable us to tackle multifaceted challenges while also securing our self-sustainability.

Partner Trainings & Services

Through the training hub, we deliver tailored services to a diverse range of stakeholders. These services are customized to meet the specific needs of each partner, primarily focusing on capacity-building and language support. These offerings not only generate income to support our social action but also contribute to advancing our mission by fostering systemic interaction and knowledge exchange.

Within our commitment to fostering positive youth development and social cohesion, we are proud contributors to the EU-funded DIALOGOS initiative. In collaboration with humanitarian organizations and academia across Spain, Italy, and Greece, we train bilingual migrant and refugee youth from countries with languages of lesser diffusion (LLD) to become Public Services Interpreters and Translators (PSIT). This training not only helps overcome communication barriers but also enhances the career and integration prospects of migrant and refugee youth. Follow @dialogoserasmus for an inside look at the collective strides we are taking toward a more inclusive Europe.

As part of our commitment to supporting refugees in their journey towards better lives, we are proud partners in providing essential services to the UN Refugee Agency in critical situations:

Ukrainian Refugee Crisis (2022)

In response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis, we mobilized to offer interpretation services to those fleeing the conflict in Ukraine and seeking refuge in Spain. Our dedicated team of nine interpreters and translators aided a total of 355 refugees in Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, and Málaga during this challenging period. As part of our comprehensive approach, we also organized a specialized training course on international protection, temporary protection, and interpretation within the asylum process. This training was extended to all interpreters contracted by the UN Refugee Agency in this crucial context, ensuring that interpreters were equipped to facilitate communication with the utmost professionalism and that language barriers did not hinder access to vital services and support.

In response to the Afghan refugee crisis, we provided mediation and interpretation services to support 350 people evacuated from Afghanistan and arriving at the Torrejón de Ardoz military airport in Madrid, working closely with UNHCR personnel and relevant authorities. Our dedicated team of 14 interpreters and mediators participated in this critical operation. Additionally, as part of our commitment to enhancing the quality of language services in humanitarian crises, we conducted a specialized training course for interpreters and mediators involved in similar missions. Our comprehensive approach ensured that language barriers did not hinder access to vital services and support for Afghan refugees, facilitating their protection and integration in Spain.

In collaboration with UNHCR, we provided vital linguistic and mediation services to assist a total of 50 refugees. Our support extended to languages including Spanish, Farsi, Arabic, Bambara, and Somali at a major refugee reception center in Madrid. Our commitment to overcoming language barriers played a pivotal role in facilitating refugees’ access to essential support, ensuring that their rights were safeguarded.

As part of our collaboration with the Diagrama Foundation, we conducted extensive training sessions for over 500 frontline agents, encompassing a diverse range of professionals such as social workers, lawyers, psychologists, and others. These sessions provided in-depth insights into legal frameworks, regulatory principles, and documentation procedures pertinent to safeguarding unaccompanied foreign minors in EU member states. Moreover, participants acquired valuable knowledge concerning cultural nuances, mediation techniques, and ethical considerations in their roles. This longstanding partnership manifests our commitment to capacity-building and the promotion of good practice in managing youth migration.

In line with our commitment to supporting stakeholders operating in the humanitarian realm, we have partnered with ACCEM, a non-profit organization aiding individuals in vulnerable situations. During 2022, our collaboration with ACCEM involved extending support for the European Practices for Integration and Care (EPIC) initiative, primarily focusing on assisting unaccompanied migrant children. This support was instrumental in fostering effective communication and broadening the program’s impact. Continuing our partnership in 2023, we furthered our support to ACCEM by providing essential services in addressing the underreporting of racial discrimination cases.

In 2021, we initiated a collaboration with Nebrija University, extending our technical advisory services to facilitate the development of a specialized language course for state security forces in Rome. In its inaugural year, the program successfully equipped 120 police officers with enhanced communication skills in Standard Arabic. This not only empowered them to respond more effectively during crisis situations but also emphasized the importance of everyday community engagement with Arab-speaking populations. This initiative reaffirmed our commitment to enhancing cross-cultural communication capacities, ensuring effective interactions across diverse contexts.

In keeping with our commitment to capacity enhancement in crisis settings, we have extended our training support to the Foundation for Justice. The recent training program focused on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and equipped tens of volunteers with the necessary knowledge to navigate the intricacies of conflict-induced, humanitarian crises.

In 2022, we extended our commitment to supporting at-risk populations by partnering with FACIAM, a nationwide network dedicated to assisting individuals experiencing homelessness. Within this collaboration, we provided mediation and interpretation services to facilitate the successful execution of a research project aimed at amplifying the voices of youth facing homelessness and social exclusion.
