“2020 has been a huge challenge for the third sector and has highlighted its importance as an essential agent and collaborator to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the most vulnerable groups. The circumstances caused by Covid-19 have modified our usual activity, but they have also pushed us to seek new ways of thinking and performing.
This year has served us to carry out a strategic reflection on what is our purpose and reason for being, which culminates with the approval of the 2021 Action Plan held in October 2020. In this way, we also include among our objectives to strengthen our management capacity, enhance and expand our network of strategic alliances, and contribute to creating a culture of volunteering around the Foundation.
On our website you can find the activities and projects to which the Foundation has dedicated its efforts and resources during this year and which have led to progress in the three cross-cutting areas in which our actions are framed. But beyond the work we have done, we highlight the motivational value that all of us who make up this institution have forged. We are really satisfied to take sides in projects with groups at risk of exclusion and a situation of vulnerability.
The achievements made so far constitute the greatest stimulus to continue betting on the purpose built, and with an eye to the future, we continue working on the conformation of new proposals, expanding our network of collaboration agreements and making ourselves known to society.
At the Fundación Abrazando Ilusiones we assume as our own the new challenges that the future holds in a changing world where the value of the person and difference, equity and educational quality, the search for justice and peace, must be priorities.
We will continue working to turn our society into a more creative, inclusive and sustainable space. Finally, I thank all the professionals and collaborators of the Foundation who make it possible for these challenges to become reality.”
